The school year may be winding down but we are gearing up for one of the biggest events at Summit this year. The Summit Fun Run: We Will ROCK You event will be held on Friday, May 14Rain date will be Monday, May 17. All students will participate this year with their learning Pods on the neighboring Harding Middle School track.

  • Pod 1, 12:30-1:30 p.m.
  • Pod 2, 9:15-10:15 a.m.
  • Pod 3, 10:30-11:30 a.m.

This incorporates Summit’s educational goal of healthy living and making healthy choices, and also raises money for the school we love. ALL students are encouraged to participate in the FUNdraising and the FUN Run.

The Fun Run is Summit’s spring FUNdraiser and we have a big goal this year – if we raise $25,000 we will build an indoor rock climbing wall in the MPR (multipurpose room)! Watch Mr. Jamie’s video of his rock climbing wall dream at Summit here. Funds raised through the 2021 Fun Run will also be used not only for the rock climbing wall but for Summit classroom technology, teacher salaries, building updates and more. We hope every student will participate by inviting friends, neighbors, and relatives to donate based on their enthusiastic participation in the event, not on the number of laps they run.

Summit has partnered with 99pledges fundraising platform for easy online giving; simply share your child(ren)’s fundraising page via text, email, or social media to raise even more money for Summit. Summit also welcomes cash/checks. Watch Summit’s social media pages for time-limited matching gift opportunities beginning soon!

Please ensure students wear tennis shoes the day of the run. Summit is excited to welcome parents/family/friends to cheer on their runners and classmates (bring those signs of support!) during the Fun Run during the corresponding Pod timeslot; attendees are to stay outside, wear a face mask, and remain socially distanced for the safety of students and visitors.

Thank you for your support of Summit Schools and the Fun Run! Ready, set, RAISE!

Some Fun Run FAQs:

Who is being asked to support this? Students are asking for people to donate money to the school to support them in this race. We do not expect nor do we want this to be a financial hardship on our Summit families, but rather an invitation for Summit students to really visit with family, friends and neighbors about what a special school Summit is and why your child(ren) loves it so much. Hopefully these discussions will lead to donations for them – and the school! We have set up online giving so it’s super easy for you to donate right now AND share this link with family and friends!

Don’t forget that if you belong to a company or organization that matches charitable giving, then your contribution could be doubled!

Why are we fundraising, especially when deposits are due for next year?
Summit tuition only covers 69% of our operating costs, so to bridge that gap we rely on fundraisers like Celebrate Summit in the fall and annual campaign solicitations. Summit’s Fun Run is a healthy way to involve our Summit students and their families in our fundraising efforts to help the school that we ALL love.
