🍌March is National Nutrition Month and Summit 4 🍌March is National Nutrition Month and Summit 4th graders ended their month-long unit on nutrition by shopping the aisles of Hy-Vee for nutritional snack options. Students have learned about the different food groups and what it means to eat a well-balanced meal/diet. Students also learned how to read nutrition labels and a receipt. 💳Each student had a budget amount of $12.50 on a gift card to purchase 6 days worth of snacks (12 snacks total), and the snacks had to be from two different food groups. This was a challenge, but students accomplished it with grace and enthusiasm! 👏Thank you to our friends at @edgewoodrdhyvee and dietitian Nicole for all the help and making this real-world, hands-on learning experience possible! #summitschoolscr #NationalNutritionMonth

Spring has sprung and Summit is ready to spring in Spring has sprung and Summit is ready to spring into a new season of Running Club! 👟🌷🏃 Last fall we had a great season with our OWN first-ever Harvest Hustle 5K! We are excited for the return of Spring Running Club, culminating with Summit's all-school Fun Run on May 12! Running Club will take place for 6 weeks on Wednesday mornings, from 7:30 a.m.-8:20 a.m., beginning April 5, and ending on May 10.
