Summit Schools will celebrate its 25th anniversary throughout the 2023-24 school year. Anniversary events include the annual back to school ice cream social on Monday, August 21 from 4-6 p.m. at the school, the Celebrate Summit 25th Anniversary Gala fundraiser on November 3 at Elmcrest Country Club, and outreach service events that will involve current students, alumni, families and the community. Summit Schools, whose prestigious predecessors include Linn Academy and McLeod Academy, opened its doors in the fall of 1998 in its current location.

“Thousands of local students have come through Summit’s doors over the last 25 years, whether it was for our independent school, summer camps, tutoring or other programs,” says April Bickford, who assumed the role of Summit’s head of schools/principal on August 1. “Our theme is ‘celebrating Summit’s silver anniversary with golden opportunities’ and events throughout the year will give past and current Summit families the chance to celebrate Summit’s first 25 years, and look forward to the next 25 years and beyond. It’s an exciting time of growth at Summit.”
