Summit Schools sustained serious damage to the building and grounds during the storm on August 10. We are so thankful that all the staff that was in the school doing back-to-school prep were safe and unharmed. Unfortunately, there is currently no power at Summit and there is limited building access so Summit is closed until further notice.

The Return to Learn Academy is cancelled and we hope to start classes as was originally scheduled on August 24, but we will be in touch with future communications with more information.

If you are looking to help us, staff and volunteers are meeting each day at Summit at 8 a.m. for cleanup. Please bring rakes, tools, branch cutters, gloves, chain saws, water, leaf blowers, power washers, etc. We also need roofers (residential and commercial) and construction work done ASAP, if you have any leads or connections. Please stop by any morning you are available. We always appreciate the help from our amazing and supportive Summit community.

Summit staff has limited connection and availability, so the only way to contact us at this point is each morning in person at the cleanup until power throughout the Cedar Rapids area is restored. Please stay safe and we look forward to returning to school when Summit is ready!
